Trafford, PA. — September 29 — Trafford Fire Co.No.1 held a training session on Tuesday night that centered on hydrant operations and ensuring a steady water supply for fire suppression efforts.


During the exercise, firefighters reviewed the correct procedures for connecting to hydrants and practiced setting up equipment to create water flow.

They also went through the steps necessary to ensure a dependable water source during an emergency situation.

The practical training enabled the crew to practice essential tasks that may be needed during a structure fire.


Consistent drills on hydrants and water supply help firefighters stay proficient with their equipment, enhance teamwork, and keep their skills sharp.

Trafford Fire Co. No.1 operates as a volunteer department and considers training an important part of its commitment to the community. The department’s official website explains that it is entirely volunteer-based and highlights that its members both train and respond to local emergencies.


The department’s official history also lists Engine 86, Attack 86, Wagon 86, and Squad 86 as part of its equipment, offering support for fire and emergency services.
