Fawn Grove Responders Marked 25 Years Since 9/11

Fawn Grove, PA. — September 11 — Citizens Volunteer Fire Company and nearby mutual aid departments participated in a First Responder Night at Kennard-Dale High School. The event was held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, attacks.


Local firefighters, emergency medical services personnel, and other first responders gathered with students, school staff, and community members.

The South Eastern School District shared that first responder vehicles were on display behind the high school, and a special opening ceremony took place at the stadium.


The evening offered a chance for emergency service workers to interact with the students and staff they support.

Citizens Volunteer Fire Company operates from its station located at 171 S.Market St.in Fawn Grove and continues to be part of the local emergency response system that serves the community.


September 11 marked 25 years since the attacks that resulted in the deaths of 2,977 people in New York City, at the Pentagon, and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Among the victims were 343 firefighters, 71 law enforcement officers, and eight emergency medical staff. The 9/11 Memorial also highlights the ongoing effects of illnesses related to exposure during the attacks.


The event gave students, residents, and first responders a chance to remember those who lost their lives and to honor the ongoing dedication of emergency personnel.
