Jen O. Promoted to Telecommunicator 3 at Dauphin County Public Safety

Steelton, Pa. — September 17, 2026 — Jen O. has been promoted to Telecommunicator 3 with the Dauphin County Department of Public Safety, acknowledging her experience and ongoing contributions at the county’s Emergency Communications Center. 


Dauphin County Public Safety announced the promotion on September 17. The department states that Jen has worked in various areas of the communications center, accumulating experience and knowledge across multiple functions.


Besides her usual responsibilities, Jen assists in welcoming and supporting new staff and also serves as a Communications Training Officer, or CTO. In that position, she assists in training and supporting new telecommunicators as they build the skills required to manage emergency calls and dispatch duties. 


The Dauphin County Emergency Communications Center functions as the county’s Public Safety Answering Point for 911 calls. The center manages call processing and radio dispatching and offers both initial and ongoing training for telecommunicators. In 2025, the county stated that its PSAP handled about 160,000 911 calls.
