— September 23, 2026 — Over 30 firefighters from Adams Township Volunteer Fire Co. On Wednesday evening, 2 and the Richland Township Volunteer Fire Department teamed up for a multi-department training session held at a home donated in Adams Township.
The training featured multiple hands-on stations aimed at enhancing skills applied in residential structure fires. Firefighters carried out search and rescue missions, ladder operations, roof operations, and positioned their vehicles.
A smoke machine was also employed during the exercise to simulate realistic training conditions and allow firefighters to practice working inside a smoke-filled building. The training was held in a home donated for the exercise by the Horner family. The departments thanked the family for allowing firefighters to use the property as a training site.
