Dunnstown Firefighters Help Family Improve Home Fire Safety

— September 11, 2026 — Firefighters provided a hands-on fire-safety service Friday by visiting a local home to help with the proper placement of smoke detectors and demonstrate how to safely use a fire escape ladder.

The visit gave residents an opportunity to learn how their fire-safety equipment works before it is needed during an emergency. Firefighters reviewed smoke-detector placement and demonstrated the proper use of an escape ladder.

The Dunnstown Fire Company shared the community-safety visit on September 11, emphasizing the importance of testing smoke detectors, knowing multiple ways out of the home and practicing a family fire escape plan.
