Gettysburg Fire Department Mourned Life Member Robert Reecher

Gettysburg, PA. — September 29 — The Gettysburg Fire Department expressed sorrow over the death of Life Member Robert G.Reecher, a dedicated member who gave many years of service to both the department and the community.


Reecher, who was 71 years old, resided in Gettysburg and passed away on September 24, 2026, at Laurel Lakes Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, as noted in his obituary. He was born on April 17, 1955, in Gettysburg and graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1973.


He was a lifelong member of the Gettysburg Fire Department and served as a trustee for several years. In 2020, he was honored with the Eugene S.Sickle Award.


The department stated that the services would be private and arranged at the family's convenience. Reecher is survived by his wife, Deborah, two sons, two stepsons, two step-granddaughters, two brothers, and several nieces and nephews.


The Gettysburg Fire Department offered its condolences to Reecher’s family, friends, and fellow members as they reflected on his many years of service to the department.
