Cherry Hill Fire Department Promoted Jason Houck to Assistant Fire Chief

Cherry Hill, N.J. — September 16 — The Cherry Hill Fire Department conducted a promotional ceremony on September 16 to honor Jason Houck's promotion to Assistant Fire Chief.


Houck started his career with the department in 2000 as a probationary firefighter assigned to Ladder 13.

He later served on Squad 13 and Rescue 13.In 2006, he was promoted to lieutenant and continued working with those units before moving up to captain in 2012, at which time he was reassigned to Squad 13.


In 2013, Houck was promoted to battalion chief and was placed in the Field Command Office. He served on the B and C platoons and later worked in the Training and Safety Division.


Throughout his time with the department, Houck contributed to training efforts and taught courses on engine operations, hose line operations, and the responsibilities of engine company officers. He also helped develop department-wide training programs.


Houck holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Safety Administration from Neumann University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of New Haven.


The Cherry Hill Fire Department, located at 1100 Marlkress Road, acknowledged Houck's promotion and his many years of service. The Fire Chief’s Office and the Cherry Hill Board of Fire Commissioners extended their congratulations and expressed their best wishes for his success in his new role.
