Moorestown Relief Engine Company Remembered Those Lost on 9/11

Moorestown, N.J. — September 11 — Members of the Moorestown Relief Engine Company observed the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, by honoring the people who lost their lives and the emergency service personnel who did not come home.

The company, based at 222 Chester Ave.


in Moorestown, joined fire and emergency service groups nationwide in commemorating the anniversary and acknowledging the service provided during and following the attacks.

The September 11 attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,977 individuals at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the crash site of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania.


Among those who died were 343 firefighters from the New York City Fire Department, 37 officers from the Port Authority Police Department, and 23 officers from the New York City Police Department.

The 2026 anniversary also paid tribute to first responders and cleanup workers who later died from illnesses related to their work after the attacks.


The 9/11 Memorial & Museum added a seventh moment of silence to its yearly ceremony to honor these victims.
