Egg Harbor City, N.J. — September 21 — Members of the Lower Bank Volunteer Fire Company took part in a live-burn training exercise with the New Gretna Volunteer Fire Company on September 21. The joint training session allowed firefighters to collaborate and practice essential skills commonly used during fire incidents.

The training covered various aspects such as rescue operations, fire suppression, and ventilation.

Firefighters engaged in realistic situations that tested their ability to communicate, coordinate, and properly use firefighting equipment. This session also helped members from both departments get to know each other better before working together during an emergency.

The training took place in rainy weather, but the crews carried out all planned activities as scheduled.

Live-fire exercises enabled firefighters to practice tasks in a controlled environment, simulating real-life scenarios that may occur during a structure fire.

The Lower Bank Volunteer Fire Company is based at 3 Firehouse Lane in Egg Harbor City.

The department's training efforts contribute to the continuous development of its volunteer members and ensure that the team remains prepared for operational demands.

Regular hands-on training remains vital in the fire service. Firefighters are required to keep their skills in suppression, rescue, and ventilation up to date while maintaining safety and working effectively as part of a team. These joint exercises also help build and strengthen mutual-aid partnerships between neighboring fire departments.

The September 21 training offered Lower Bank firefighters additional hands-on experience while promoting teamwork with New Gretna personnel.
