Cinnaminson, N.J. — September 14 — Members of the Cinnaminson Fire Department Station 204 carried out a hose line training exercise on Monday evening at their station located on Riverton Road. The session was centered on the setup, use, and reconditioning of 2.5-inch hose lines.
Firefighters practiced the process of positioning the hose, operating it effectively, and properly returning the equipment to its ready state after the exercise. The 2.5-inch hose line is mainly utilized in commercial building fires where a greater volume of water is necessary.
However, based on the circumstances of the fire, the size of the structure, and the decisions made by the incident commander, this type of hose can also be deployed at residential fire incidents.
The training provided firefighters with the chance to work with a larger, heavier hose line while ensuring effective communication and teamwork among crew members.
Performing these drills repeatedly allowed the team to become more familiar with how to place equipment and the exact steps needed to prepare the hose for future use.
For those working in emergency services, ongoing training with hose lines remains a key element in keeping the department prepared for various operational scenarios.
The Cinnaminson Fire Department continues to rely on hands-on practice to review equipment, enhance crew coordination, and ensure all members are ready for a wide range of fireground tasks.
