Two Companies, One Drill: Cardiff and Bargaintown Train Together

On September 24, firefighters from the Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company and the Bargaintown Volunteer Fire Company held a joint training exercise in Egg Harbor Township, concentrating on key skills relevant to interior firefighting operations.

The training included fireground hose-line deployment and management, interior search methods, firefighter Mayday procedures, and bailout techniques. The joint format enabled staff from both companies to simulate shared operations and rehearse collaboration prior to deploying those skills at an emergency scene.

The drill was conducted under the leadership of Cardiff Assistant Chief Craig Thompson, Cardiff Captain Kevin Weatherby, and Bargaintown Assistant Chief Will Hancock. The training was created to enhance coordination among the neighboring companies and enable firefighters to work together effectively during fires and rescue operations.
