This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On Friday, members of the East Freehold Fire Company participated in a September 11 memorial ceremony in Freehold Township, uniting with other first responders and local residents to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks.

The ceremony was one of the local events held nationwide to mark the anniversary. Monmouth County officially declared September 11 as a County Day of Remembrance and hosted its yearly memorial ceremony at Mount Mitchill Scenic Overlook in Atlantic Highlands. The county stated that 147 individuals, who were either born, raised, or had lived in Monmouth County, were among those killed in the attacks.
