Ewing, N.J. — September 28 — On Monday evening, members of the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Company kept up their hands-on training, utilizing the department’s new Engine 33 to rehearse equipment handling and water-supply procedures.
As daylight ended sooner, firefighters carried out a basic relay-pumping exercise as part of ongoing driver training. Members also got hands-on experience using the pump and setting up hose lines from the new engine.
During the training, drivers gained extra experience operating the apparatus, while other firefighters focused on deploying and advancing hoses. Regular hands-on drills assist crews in getting comfortable with new equipment and reinforce consistency in their operations.
