Wildwood, N.J. — September 7 — The City of Wildwood Fire Department honored Labor Day by acknowledging the contributions and service of American workers, including firefighters and emergency responders who continued to serve their communities during the holiday.

Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of September and is a national holiday that honors the social and economic contributions of American workers.

For the fire service, Labor Day also symbolized the work done by personnel who stayed on duty while many communities celebrated the holiday.

Firefighters, dispatchers, emergency medical technicians, police officers, and other public safety workers continued to provide emergency services and protect their communities.

The City of Wildwood Fire Department was based at 4400 New Jersey Avenue and offered fire protection services to the local community.
