Ramsey Fire Department Recognized Labor Day

Ramsey, N.J. — September 7 — The Ramsey NJ Fire Department celebrated Labor Day on September 7 with a message acknowledging the holiday and the efforts of individuals across the country who contribute to their communities.

Labor Day is a federal holiday that honors the work and accomplishments of American workers. For those in emergency services, it also offered a chance to honor the personnel who continued to provide fire, rescue, and emergency services while many others took the day off.

The Ramsey Fire Department operated from 25 S. Island Ave. and served the borough through emergency response, training, and community service. The department identified itself as a 100% volunteer organization that has been serving Ramsey since 1899.

The borough’s official information stated that the department's mission included responding safely and quickly with trained members and the right equipment.

It also highlighted the importance of training, preparedness, and support for neighboring fire departments.
