Glen Rock Crews Trained on Heavy Vehicle Extrication

Glen Rock, N.J. — September 24 — The Glen Rock Volunteer Fire Department carried out a vehicle extrication training session during its Thursday evening practice, offering firefighters real-world experience in handling a simulated major car crash.

In the exercise, the firefighters worked to extract two simulated individuals from a vehicle that had been severely damaged.

The training involved overcoming the difficulties that may arise when vehicle damage hinders access to trapped occupants.

The team practiced working together, evaluating the extent of the vehicle damage and using specialized extrication tools to gain entry and safely remove the occupants.
