Regional Readiness: Pemberton and Woodland Crews Complete Annual Live Fire Exercises

Pemberton, NJ - Firefighters from Pemberton Township and neighboring Woodland Township joined forces Friday for an intensive multi-agency live fire and search-and-rescue training evolution at the county training grounds.

On Friday, September 25, 2026, members of the Pemberton Township Volunteer Fire Department (PTFD) and the Woodland Township Fire Department mobilized to the Burlington County Emergency Services Training Center in Westampton.

The joint session fulfilled the departments' annual live burn training requirements, providing realistic structural fire conditions within controlled burn buildings.

Operating in coordinated engine and truck company configurations, personnel rotated through evolutions focusing on interior fire attack, aggressive primary search techniques under heavy smoke and high-heat conditions, and victim removal mechanics.

Department leaders emphasized that training side-by-side at the county facility strengthens operational interoperability, communications, and fireground efficiency between the two neighboring departments, ensuring seamless mutual aid integration during real-world emergencies across Burlington County.
