Parkertown Firefighters Remembered 9/11

Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J. — September 11 — Members of the Parkertown Volunteer Fire Company honored the lives lost during the September 11, 2001 attacks as the fire service observed the 25th anniversary of that day.
The attacks resulted in the deaths of 2,977 people, including 441 first responders.
Among them were 343 firefighters and paramedics from the FDNY, 37 officers from the Port Authority Police, and 23 officers from the NYPD. The emergency services community continued to remember those who responded to the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Flight 93.
The Parkertown Volunteer Fire Company served the Parkertown area of Little Egg Harbor Township and surrounding regions.
The volunteer company had been serving the community since 1930, providing fire, medical, and hazardous materials response services. Its mission focused on protecting life, property, and the environment through training, education, and emergency response.
The company was based at 830 Railroad Drive and remained an active part of the local volunteer fire service.
New Jersey fire records also listed the Parkertown Fire Company as a volunteer department serving Little Egg Harbor Township.
On September 11, members of the company paid tribute to those who were lost and acknowledged the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and other responders whose service is an enduring part of the emergency services community's history.
