Byram Township, N.J. — September 7 — Members of the Byram Township Fire Department came together to remember their colleague, Rich, and to honor his contributions and role within the department.
The gathering highlighted the strong bonds that exist within the fire service.

The Byram Township Fire Department has been a volunteer organization serving the township for many years.

The department’s origins can be traced back to the Cranberry Lake Volunteer Fire Department, which was established in 1948.
Township records show that the Cranberry Lake Volunteer Fire Department was the predecessor to the Byram Township Volunteer Fire Department.
For firefighters, honoring a departed member is an important tradition within the department.
