Fredon Fire Company Marked 25 Years Since 9/11

Fredon, N.J. — September 11 — Members of the Fredon Volunteer Fire Company came together to honor the firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and civilians who lost their lives during the September 11, 2001 attacks.

Twenty-five years after the event, the fire service continued to remember the 343 FDNY firefighters and paramedics who died that day.

According to the National Park Service, among those killed were 343 firefighters and paramedics, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority Police officers.Thousands of others were injured in the attacks.

For those in the emergency services community, the annual remembrance was a chance to honor the firefighters and other responders who reported for duty that morning and did not return home.

The 9/11 Memorial and Museum noted that nearly 1,000 FDNY firefighters responded to the World Trade Center attacks.

Members of the Fredon Volunteer Fire Company, based at 436 State Route 94 S., Fredon, participated in memorial events and services to mark the anniversary.

These events brought firefighters and other community members together to pay tribute to those who were lost and to remember the continued service of responders who worked during the rescue and recovery efforts.

Twenty-five years later, the fire service continued to remember, honor, and recite the names of those who were lost on September 11, 2001.
