Providence Firefighters Train on Rope Rescue Operations

During the third week of September, members of the Providence Fire Department dedicated time to training in rope rescue techniques, focusing on rappelling, climbing, and the equipment used for high-angle rescues. 

The training gave firefighters practical experience in technical rescue techniques needed when responders must reach or extract a patient from an elevated or hard-to-reach area. Consistent practice enables crews to stay proficient with equipment, rope systems, and rescue protocols.
