Burlington Fire Battalion Chief Christopher Laramie Retires After 24 Years

Battalion Chief Christopher Laramie concluded his last shift with the Burlington Fire Department around 7:30 a.m. on September 13, 2026, signifying the conclusion of over twenty years of service to the city. 

In 2002, Laramie became a member of the Burlington Fire Department and held various leadership roles throughout his career, such as captain of Engine 5 in the South End and Tower 1 in the Downtown District, eventually advancing to battalion chief. City records still show Laramie as a Burlington battalion chief.

As stated in the department’s retirement announcement, Laramie was admired by many Burlington firefighters and officers for his strong work ethic, upbeat attitude, and good humor. Department members came together to celebrate his last day and wish him well on retiring. 

Laramie’s ties to Burlington Fire date back over a decade according to city records. A 2014 Burlington annual report notes his promotion from senior firefighter to lieutenant, and city personnel files from later years confirm his ongoing service with the department.
