Sandown EMS Crews Trained With Simulation Mannequin

Sandown, NH — September 8 — Sandown Fire Rescue members used Tuesday’s EMS training to practice trauma and amputation care using a high-fidelity simulation mannequin from the New Hampshire Fire Academy.

The hands-on session provided an opportunity for members to practice trauma-care skills in a controlled training environment.

The simulation enabled EMS personnel to work through patient assessment, treatment choices, and coordination during an emergency medical scenario.

Training with realistic simulation equipment allowed crews to review essential skills without the pressure of a real emergency.

Repeating these practices helped members stay proficient in patient-care procedures and work effectively as a team during complex medical situations.

Sandown Fire Rescue is a volunteer department made up of firefighters and EMTs.

The department operated from its fire station located at 314 Main Street and provided fire and EMS services to the local community.

New Hampshire’s Fire Standards and Training and Emergency Medical Services division supports EMS education throughout the state.

Their programs include training for EMTs, advanced EMTs, and paramedics.

The training session gave Sandown members another chance to maintain their emergency medical skills and prepare for the kinds of trauma calls they might face during regular operations.
