Auburn Firefighters Attend State Fire & Life Safety Conference

This week, two Auburn firefighters attended the 2026 Massachusetts Fire & Life Safety Education Conference, joining fire and life safety professionals from throughout the state for two days of training, workshops, and public safety-focused information. 

Lieutenant Bill O'Connor and Firefighter Ian Haggerty from the Auburn Fire-Rescue Department attended the conference, which took place September 16/17 at the Wellsworth Hotel & Conference Center in Southbridge, Massachusetts. The event was presented by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services. 

The 31st annual conference featured the theme “ Heating Up Safety: From Hot Topics to Cooler Solutions.” Over 250 fire and life safety educators were anticipated to attend, joined by firefighters, fire prevention officers, EMTs, teachers, nurses, school leaders, and other professionals engaged in community safety.
