West Shore Fire Department Remembered 9/11 on 25th Anniversary

West Haven, CT — September 11 — The West Shore Fire Department commemorated the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks with a remembrance event that honored the nearly 3,000 individuals who lost their lives and the emergency responders who answered the calls that day.
This anniversary held particular significance for members of the emergency services community.
Firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and other responders were involved in the response to the attacks in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania.The event also served as a reminder of the dangers faced by emergency personnel when dealing with large-scale incidents.
West Haven has continued to observe September 11 each year.
The city’s 25th anniversary remembrance took place at Bradley Point Park on September 11, featuring a flag-raising ceremony, an honor guard, prayers, a moment of silence, and a candlelight vigil at the Richard S.Gabrielle September 11 Memorial.
The West Shore Fire District provided fire and paramedic services to the West Shore area of West Haven and was dedicated to protecting lives and property from fires, medical emergencies, disasters, and other hazards.
The 25th anniversary remembrance carried on the tradition of honoring those who were lost and preserving their memory within the emergency services community.
