Egg Harbor TWP, NJ - Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company #1 members have conducted a hands-on company drill in Atlantic County focused on advancing vehicle rescue and extrication proficiency using Hurst rescue tools.

On 27 August in Atlantic County, members have trained under the supervision of Captain Kevin Weatherby and Lieutenant Will Danz, working through practical evolutions with hydraulic rescue equipment to improve precision, safety, and efficiency during vehicle extrication scenarios.

Firefighters have focused on core skill development including controlled tool operation, vehicle stabilization techniques, and coordinated team movement during simulated rescue conditions. The drill has emphasized accuracy and safety when operating high-force hydraulic equipment in complex entrapment situations.

The training evolution has also supported ongoing skill progression for newer members, reinforcing foundational rescue procedures while ensuring experienced firefighters maintain operational readiness for real-world crash response incidents.
