CARLTON, NY — August 18 — Carlton Fire Company introduced its new 69 chiefs car into service on August 18, adding a dedicated command vehicle to its emergency response fleet. The vehicle, marked as Carlton Fire Rescue, was equipped with emergency warning lights and was designed to assist fire officers during department operations.
Chiefs and command vehicles allowed officers to respond directly to incidents while transporting the necessary communications and support equipment for command functions.
Fire departments typically used SUVs and similar vehicles for this purpose.
The addition of the 69 vehicle expanded Carlton’s fleet and provided another resource for officers involved in emergency responses, training activities, inspections, and other department responsibilities.
The firefighter job description at Carlton also highlighted incident command, radio communications, emergency response, and regular training as essential department responsibilities.
The new vehicle offered Carlton Fire Company an updated platform for command operations and officer response as the department continued to provide fire and emergency services within the Carlton community.
