MILLBROOK, NY —  On September 4, Kara Granger received the Millbrook Fire Department's Hydrant Award in recognition of her ongoing support of the department and its members.

The agency claims that members can reliably rely on Granger. She checks in on department members, assists in ensuring crews have everything they need at emergency situations, and manages a variety of behind-the-scenes duties.

Although she does a lot of that work without asking for credit, the department said that her efforts had an impact on its members and operations.

Granger was honored with the Hydrant Award for her continued dedication and assistance to the Millbrook Fire Department. The department congratulated Granger on receiving the award and said members are fortunate to have her as part of the firehouse family. The award announcement was also shared publicly by the department.
