MILLBROOK, NY — August 9, 2026 — During a fire service parade on August 9, the Millbrook Fire Department received the Best Apparatus award.

The department's equipment from the parade competition was acknowledged with this honor. At fire department parades, participating units and equipment are frequently judged, and departments vie for prizes based on presentation and other factors.

The prize gave Millbrook firefighters a chance to highlight one of their equipment and the effort they put into being ready for the occasion.

Participating in fire service parades, such as the department's yearly procession throughout the village, has long been a tradition for the Millbrook Fire Department. The Millbrook Fire Department held the 2026 Dutchess County Convention Parade in July, which included fire departments and equipment from all across the county.
