HERKIMER, NY — August 5 — Herkimer Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 2484 carried out truck operations training on August 5.Firefighters Mabbett and Scholl participated in sessions that focused on skills related to the department’s aerial apparatus.

The training emphasized proper operation of the apparatus and the safe handling of truck equipment.

The firefighters practiced from the aerial platform, reviewing the positioning and operational techniques necessary for responding to emergencies.

New York State’s fire-service training program includes aerial apparatus operation, inspection, maintenance, positioning, and stabilization as part of its Apparatus Aerial Operator curriculum.

The state also considers truck company operations as a fundamental component of firefighter training.

The Herkimer Fire Department based its operations at 125 N.
