WHITESVILLE, NY — September 2 — The Whitesville NY Volunteer Fire Department highlighted firefighter Wally Watson in its most recent member spotlight, acknowledging his 10 years of dedication to the department and the fire service as a whole.

Watson explained that he decided to join the fire service as a way to give back to the community that supported him and his family during difficult times.

He emphasized that the sense of brotherhood and family within the Whitesville Fire Department was the most valuable part of his experience.

For anyone thinking about becoming a firefighter, Watson shared a straightforward advice: “Do it.

It feels amazing to help people.”

In his professional life, Watson was the owner of C&W Auto Service and worked as a mechanic.

Outside of work, he enjoyed activities such as snowmobiling, go-karting, UTV riding, and spending time in nature.His favorite foods were steak and berries, and his favorite color was green.

The Town of Independence identifies the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department as being located at 496 Main Street in Whitesville, and Allegany County emergency-service records also list the same address.
