Angelica Responders Completed Training During FASNY Convention

ELLICOTTVILLE, NY — August 22 — Members of Angelica Fire and Rescue attended the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY) 154th Annual Meeting and Convention in Ellicottville.The department stated that multiple members participated in the convention and engaged in training sessions.


Rob, April, Chris, and Shelly represented Angelica Fire and Rescue at the event.

The convention provided volunteer firefighters with opportunities for training, education, business discussions, and the exchange of information with other fire service professionals.


The 2026 FASNY program offered various training opportunities for emergency responders.

On Saturday, there were classroom sessions focused on rope rescue, including topics like ropes, knots, hardware, patient packaging, and rescue systems.A hands-on session involved vehicle rescues from cars over embankments, covering low-angle terrain operations, patient packaging, and the use of rope systems.


The training program at the convention allowed department members to review rescue techniques, learn about updated practices, and gain new knowledge to bring back to their local fire service.

FASNY described its convention as a statewide event intended for volunteer firefighters.
