Stafford, CT - The Town of Stafford conducted a coordinated emergency preparedness drill in conjunction with a statewide exercise organized by the Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security.

Department heads and local emergency services, including Stafford Fire Department No.1, Inc., operated from the town’s Emergency Operations Center to evaluate readiness and coordination during large-scale incidents.

Personnel worked through a detailed scenario involving a major winter storm, focusing on decision-making, resource allocation, communication, and interagency coordination. The exercise provided an opportunity to review protocols, identify areas for improvement, and strengthen the town’s overall emergency management capabilities.

On September 1 in Tolland County, the drill highlighted the importance of unified command and proactive planning when preparing for severe weather events that can significantly impact the community.
