NEWPORT, NY — AUGUST 20, 2026 — Training on hose advancement and pump operations was given by members of Newport Fire Co. #4.
While some firemen worked on pump operations to build and maintain the water supply for the workers advancing the hose, other firefighters rehearsed advancing hose lines.
Members had the chance to practice various tasks during a hose operation under the direction of Training Officer Peter Burritt.
The training was also used by the department to emphasize that everyone in the fire service has a role to play. Anyone interested in joining Newport Fire Co. #4 is urged to get in touch for additional details.
