MARCY, NY — August 10, 2026 — Over the weekend, Maynard Fire Department employees took part in a factory orientation for the department's new Tower 1.

Firefighters had the chance to learn about the new equipment's features, controls, operation, and capabilities during the orientation. The aerial device, stabilizing systems, equipment placement, and other important truck operations were all covered in practical training for members.

An essential component of training firemen to use new equipment safely and efficiently is factory orientation. Before the vehicle is put into operation, the training enables members to familiarize themselves with the equipment.

As the department works to implement the new equipment and expand its emergency response capabilities, Maynard firefighters will continue their training with Tower 1.
