Richmond, RI - Richmond-Carolina Fire District recently concluded its final daytime Junior Firefighter training session as the summer program wrapped up ahead of the school year.

On 25 August, junior members participated in practical, hands-on evolutions focused on foundational fireground skills, including hydrant operations and engine water supply setup. Under supervision, participants were guided through the process of connecting to a hydrant, establishing a secure water supply, and flowing water through the engine system.

The training provided an opportunity for the junior firefighters to gain real-world exposure to essential fire service operations, reinforcing both technical skills and teamwork in a controlled environment. Each participant actively engaged in setting up equipment and observing how water movement is managed from hydrant to apparatus.

The department highlighted the group’s enthusiasm and commitment throughout the summer program, noting their willingness to learn and contribute as they continue developing toward future service roles within the fire district.
