Tiverton, RI - The Tiverton Fire Department participated in pediatric simulation lab training in Tiverton, Newport County, in coordination with the Rhode Island Department of Health, focusing on enhancing emergency care for pediatric patients.

On 24 August, crews engaged in hands-on, scenario-based evolutions designed to replicate critical medical emergencies involving children. Personnel worked through detailed patient assessments, airway management techniques, and rapid intervention procedures while operating under realistic, high-pressure conditions.

The training emphasized coordination, communication, and precise decision-making, ensuring responders can adapt quickly when treating pediatric patients. Crews rotated through multiple simulations to build confidence and reinforce best practices in delivering pre-hospital care.

The department recognized the value of the program and credited the Rhode Island Department of Health for providing a training opportunity that strengthens readiness and supports delivering the highest level of care to the community’s youngest patients.
