On August 25, 2026, technicians worked alongside department personnel to inspect, service, and test hydraulic and battery-operated rescue tools carried across multiple apparatus, including the department’s primary extrication cache assigned to Rescue Company 5.

The department maintains extrication capabilities on three separate apparatus, providing firefighters with multiple response options for motor vehicle collisions and technical rescue incidents. These tools, commonly referred to as the “Jaws of Life,” are essential for safely accessing and extricating trapped ocupants during crash or entrapment scenarios.
