ARCADE, NY — August 26, 2026 — The Arcade Fire Department is honoring Captain Danielle Zink-Laskowski, who was honored at the Wyoming-Erie Regional EMS Council's annual awards banquet on Wednesday nite as the 2026 Basic Life Support Provider of the Year.
One of the eighteen regional EMS councils in New York, the Wyoming-Erie Regional EMS Council oversees and supports EMS operations and education in the counties of Erie and Wyoming.
Zink-Laskowski's career already encompasses multiple emergency services departments, and this distinction adds yet another achievement. According to the Arcade Fire Department, she is an interior fireman, an assistant secretary, and a captain.
Her EMS career has continued to advance as well. The department reports that she recently completed a paramedic program and is now working full time as a paramedic with the Wyoming County Office of Emergency Services.
For an emergency-service organization, having personnel who can operate across multiple disciplines can provide additional depth during complex incidents. Zink-Laskowski's combination of fireground, EMS and leadership responsibilities reflects the overlap that is common in many departments serving rural communities.
