Working Fire In Haddon Heights

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

At approximately 1144 hours on August 25, 2026, the Camden County Fire Alarm Room dispatched the Haddon Heights-Barrington Fire Department and automatic aid companies to 1508 Oak Avenue in Haddon Heights for the report of a dwelling fire. The fire dispatchers advised incoming units that they were receiving calls reporting fire in the rear of the dwelling. A column of smoke could be seen from several blocks out. Engine Co 2 of the HHBFD arrived and reported smoke showing from a one story (with attic space) and transmitted the working fire box which brought in additional units to assist with the fire. Fire was showing from the rear of the dwelling and extended into the attic space. As the companies arrived, hand lines were stretched to the interior, water supply was established and truck companies went to the roof to ventilate. Companies were confronted with some hoarding conditions which made the fire fight more difficult. An occupant was reported treated for a minor burn injury. The fire was placed under control in under twenty fire minutes.
