Jersey City, N.J.  - On the morning of August 15th, the U.S. Navy Seal Foundation held their annual Seal Swim at Liberty State Park. A total of 146 participants swam around Liberty Island and Ellis Island and returned to the north end of the park. The Jersey City Fire Department set up a decon operation for the participants. After a head count that all 146 swimmers were accounted for, the group marched over to the fire department's decon area. Fire Department units that were on hand included the Decon Unit, Haz Mat's 1 and 2, Water Tender 1, Engine Co.'s 1 and 17, Ladder 2 and Car 26 (Gong Club) rehab unit, all under the direction of Deputy Chief Rob Daly.  

At the conclusion of the US Navy Seal Foundation's Annual Seal Swim around Liberty Island and Ellis Island, the participants gave Jersey City Deputy Fire Chief Rob Daly, right, their cheer for his cooperation in setting up a decon operation for the swimmers at the termination of their swim, on Augiust 15th.
