WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — August 20, 2026 — On-duty staff at the Washington Township Fire District were able to take a break from their typical firehouse routine on Thursday for a special visit featuring one of professional hockey's most iconic trophies.

The Washington Township Fire Department said that members of the on-duty staff were invited to Holly Dell to see the Stanley Cup and meet Carolina Hurricanes forward Eric Robinson.

The department praised the Holly Dell staff for hosting its members and offering this opportunity.

Robinson, a New Jersey native who played youth hockey in the area, has played in the NHL for several seasons. His connection to the region added a local element to the visit.

The Stanley Cup is awarded annually to the National Hockey League champion. The Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup in 2006, while Robinson has been part of the Hurricanes organization.

The Washington Township Fire Department thanked Holly Dell for its hospitality and continued support of the department.
