WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — July 28, 2026 —Lieutenant Josh King received the Deputy Chief's Award from the Washington Township Fire Department, in recognition of his sustained dedication and leadership within the department.

During an evening recognition event, Deputy Chiefs Rob Borkowski and Matthew Zemski presented King with the award. The deputy chiefs also prepared a home-cooked dinner for King and his crew.

According to the agency, King has exhibited a strong commitment to the department's goal and consistently assumes responsibilities beyond his usual duties. His services include setting a good example, mentoring other members, assisting with recruitment efforts, and stepping in when further assistance is required.

The department's official roster lists King as a Lieutenant with Grenloch Fire Company, Station 10-1 Battalion, and president. Borkowski is listed as company chief, while Zemski serves as a district deputy chief.
