Hancocks Bridge, NJ — August 17 — Lower Alloways Creek Fire & Rescue introduced a third boat to its marine fleet on August 17 in Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey.This addition provides the rescue teams with another tool to address water-related emergencies.

The new boat, which is 15 feet long and model G3, is fitted with a 25-horsepower Yamaha outboard engine.

It has been assigned to Station 18-2.The department explained that this extra boat is anticipated to help cut down on the time it takes to respond to marine emergencies in the southern part of their service area.

This expansion builds upon an existing marine capability that has been utilized in regional water-related incidents.

Lower Alloways Creek crews, along with Marine 18, have previously taken part in events on the Delaware River, such as a barge fire that occurred in 2007.

Lower Alloways Creek Township's municipal code officially created the Lower Alloways Creek Fire and Rescue Company as the township's fire department.

No other departments were mentioned as providing mutual aid in connection with the addition of the new boat.
