Linden Cadets Trained in Fire and Rescue Skills

Linden, N.J. — July 22 — After a week of practical training, thirty cadets were acknowledged by the Linden Fire Department for completing its Junior Fire Academy. Cadets practiced ropes and knots, vehicle extrication, ventilation, hose-line operations, and search and rescue. Each cadet obtained a CPR certification after completing first-responder training in CPR and AED use. The program emphasized discipline, teamwork, and safe operations while providing young trainees with hands-on experience with fireground responsibilities.


Cadets were also exposed to the variety of abilities utilized by firefighters and other emergency responders at the academy. The address of the Linden Fire Department was 302 S. Wood Ave. There was no indication of mutual-aid departments taking part in the academy. After completing the program, the graduates gained new abilities in emergency response and teamwork.
