Gaines Begins Career With Montclair FD

Pitman, N.J. — August 12 — On Tuesday nite, members of Highland Chemical Engine Company 28-3 gathered to see the swearing-in of David Gaines, a former First Assistant Chief who is starting his career with the Montclair Fire Department.


According to the release from Highland Chemical Engine Company, Gaines was previously First Assistant Chief. As he transitions from the volunteer fire service to a career role with Montclair, the firm expressed its congratulations.


Gaines' career as a firefighter continues with this move, which combines his volunteer skills into a career department.


The Montclair Fire Department is a career fire department that serves the township of Montclair in Essex County. Gaines will now become a professional fireman and join its ranks.
