Gardner Fleet Upgrade

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

The city of Gardner recently placed two new Sutphen apparatus in service:

A 2024 Monarch 1500/1000/30F pumper is now first out at Engine 2. The 2001 Pierce Saber "loaner" was returned to the dealer. The predecessor to that, a 2011 International WorkStar 4x4 / Rosenbauer 1250/750/20F, was sold to Errol, New Hampshire, in 2023. It now sports a black roof, and it is barely recognizable as EFD Engine 1.

The second new apparatus is a 2024 Monarch heavy rescue. It has a 179" wheelbase, Amdor roll-up compartment doors, and nearly 700 cu feet of compartment storage.
