East Killingly, CT. — July 17 — After completing the necessary training and testing, East Killingly Fire Department firefighter Victoria Ashwell obtained her Firefighter I certification. Ashwell fulfilled the requirements for certification by completing hours of coursework, hands-on training, and skill development. Core fireground activities, such as hose handling, ladders, search and rescue, ventilation, and firefighter safety, were all covered in her training.

Ashwell's training for emergency response assignments was increased and her career as a fireman advanced with the certification. Her dedication to training and preparation was acknowledged by the East Killingly Fire Department as she continued to work alongside other members and promote community fire safety initiatives.
