Townshend, VT. — August 12 — Members of the Townshend Volunteer Fire Department continued to hone their emergency response abilities at an evening training session. Through the West River Training Group, the department routinely participated in regional meetings and conducted practical training at the station.

The department received training for a variety of situations, such as car wrecks, wildland fires, building fires, and other emergency situations. Townshend's mutual-aid structure allowed it to collaborate with nearby departments. Members were able to maintain familiarity with equipment, protocols, and coordinated response operations through regular training.
