Auburn, N.Y. — July 20 — A dog stuck under a driveway prompted the Auburn Fire Department's Truck Company to react to Washington Street. The dog was trapped in a woodchuck hole and could not get out. Firefighters found the dog approximately six feet below the driveway after gaining entry thru a crawl passage beneath the property. The animal was safely removed from beneath the driveway after crews worked to reach it.

The department's capacity to manage animal rescues and other uncommon service requests was proved by the reaction. With teams prepared to respond to a variety of emergencies requiring specialized access and equipment, the Auburn Fire Department continues to offer fire, rescue, and emergency services throughout the city.
